In Creative Media so far I have done my Welcome/Home page, and am working on the Trailer and Synopsis page. For this page I have had to make a trailer for my movie, by cutting pieces out of it. I am now thinking of maybe doing a voice over for it... but I'm not quite sure if I should or not, because there isn't really too much to say.
Next lesson I will put my trailer onto the page and add the synopsis. As for this lesson, I'm going to work out what I want on my poster and maybe start it using Photoshop or another program.

Reflection on WISE Project
This year throughout WISE I have been researching information on children with cancer in Australia, and the Starlight Children's Foundation. From this information, and pictures that I had found, I made a short film to raise awareness. Once completed I went to Mr Powell to ask if my movie could be put onto the StHildasTube (YouTube account). I am very happy with my progress and final result of the WISE Project I called "A Wish for Chronically Ill Children". I had successfully used the 20 hours time frame, also.
I am now working on the oral presentation that we have to present on our movie in the next few weeks in our next lesson.

Today I handed in my WISE project 'A Wish for Chronically Ill Children' to Miss Bardsley. It was different to the original one that I had made as my previous PC computer died, so I had to make a new one (but very similar) in another program on my new Apple Mac computer. I am happy with my movie though and have seem to fit everything in fairly well over the past few terms since WISE started.

In todays lesson Ariana and I helped Lauren with her WISE movie about bullying, and doing some re-enacted scenes.
Update on video:
With my movie I am still in the process of editing and changing a few things which I am so far managing to do successfully. I have quite good time management with this project so far and am quite happy with my movie.

Lesson 9 (cont.)
Update on video:
To get my video out there and for people to see it I have re-thought about my original idea: placing it on YouTube and maybe at Assembly.
For the YouTube option I then thought how do I get the school to see it?.. Mr Crawley updated the school website and along with that he introduced the StHildasTube on YouTube where videos on hings about whats happening at school and things that have been done etc are put on. I am thinking about possibly talking to Mr Crawley and showing him my video and asking for permission to put my movie on the StHildasTube.

For my movie I am still researching for reliable facts and statistics on children with cancer in Australia, but am looking for more recent ones also as I only have facts from 2001. I think if I had something from more recently it will be more accurate.

Today Mrs Baker gave us the criteria for our WISE presentation.. It has made me think about what I am actually up to and where I am heading with the criteria areas. Considering that I could not show Mrs Baker my movie so far due to the fact that we work on Mac computers and the program my movie is on a Windows program I have just done quite a few print screens of the video for proof of my movie to show Mrs Baker. Update on video:
I have roughly finished my video however I need to add and change a few things; put a few more facts on or change them to more updated ones (as the current ones are from 2001), and need to re-word an edit some of the sentences as some don't quote make sense.
I have added music, photos and facts to the video and looks quite good, I just need to change a few things.

Today Mrs Baker came around to us and ticked off our progress report. She wants to see what we we're all up to, so I had showed her my storyboard/script that she asked me to bring to school for next lesson. For next lesson she wants me to bring in the information that I have put in my video seeing as though the Mac computers do not have the software I am using to make the movie.

Lesson 6
Today Mrs Baker came around to everyone individually talking about our progress, she also handed out the progress checklist that we need to have to start ticking off things. I have started my movie on childhood cancer and the Starlight Children's Foundation. However Mrs Baker said that I need to bring in my script/storyboard that I have done at home for my movie which I forgot to bring in today. Mrs Baker said that she needs to see evidence of this progress, so I will bring it in next lesson so that she can sign it on my Progress Checklist.

I will think about this over the course of the time it takes to make the movie and blog about my thoughts.

In today's lesson Mrs Baker had our WISE Project Planner's back from Mrs Rigby. In my planner Mrs Rigby had ticked it, meaning that I can go ahead with my project knowing that it is okay to do. However I did get Mrs Baker to write on it that I am only focusing on children with cancer in Australia, as last lesson she said it would be too broad if I was to do chronically children in Australia as a whole.
At home I have done some research on children with cancer in Australia and the Starlight Foundation. Today I found some photos that I can put into my short movie along with the information.

Lesson 3
Today in WISE we handed in our project proposal.
Goal:
To raise awareness and educate people of the community and around the nation about chronically ill children in Australia. I will also be raising awareness for the Starlight Children's Foundation Australia who help make wishes come true for these ill children.
Final Product:
A short movie that is to raise awareness and educate people about seriously ill children within Australia and the Starlight Children's Foundation who help make wishes come true for these children. Relevant information on both of these causes will be provided in the short movie along with some photos and background music. Once completed the short movie hopefully will be placed on YouTube with the School's permission.
Mrs Baker also told us a small story about Kurt Fearnley about perserverance. He is a parllympian who has won 22 out of 32 wheelchair marathons, and all of them he has atleast been on the podium of the. He also achieved the Kokoda Trail. He is an amazing man to achieve and perservere like that.

Mrs Baker read us a story about an old man and as she was reading she wanted us to think about at what point did it occur to us that he was using metacognition, she also wanted us to think about what we thought would happen at the end etc.
Today Mrs Baker also came around to everyone and asked us what we wanted to do for our WISE project. I was thinking about volunteering at a charity. I want to do something with sick children, such as Camp Quality or Starlight Foundation.

Lesson 1
Today in WISE we filled out a survey on the Habits of Mind. We had to answer each question by answering with 'Always', 'Often', 'Sometimes' and 'Rarely or Never'. Afterward, we counted our scores on several of the Habits of Mind. By doing this I learnt a bit about myself and what my strengths are.
